Punks Mr. Fartface talk about the Belgian scene & new single!

Hello Mr. Fartface, thanks for your time. Would it be possible to introduce your musical project to our readers? Hello, thanks for having us. Well we are a punk-band from Bruxelles, Belgium. We’ve played together since 2016 but the lineup changed a bit. We released an EP and an album in October 2019 which was an amazing experience for us because we were finally able to tour across Belgium and we met a lot of lovely people. We are mixing classic modern punk-rock with some thrashy riffs and a bit of powerpop. We love the stage, we are born to play live and if you want to get a nice introduction to our music, just come to our gigs and have fun. How would you describe the Belgian punk scene from your personal POV? Well, we have a lot of bands who plays classic punk and sing in French and you have bands like us who are more influenced by UK and US music, so the scene is a beautiful mix. A lot of young bands are coming up and I think that in some years, the Belgian scene is going to explode. The Flemish side is also really amazing and they are kinda more open to new genre. So, I think we should mix the 2 sides and the cocktail will be amazing. How did you spend your time during the quarantine? Did you guys find a way to stay in touch and keep on practicing or writing songs, even from home? Well, first we were excited to have time to practice but things weren’t that easy. So instead, we tried to prepare the post-covid era and we wrote this single as an opener after this bad moment. We stayed in touch but it was more for the friendship and when we were able to see each other again, it was a blast. We are now really productive for our next single and probably for our next album in 2021. You’ve just revealed a new single, titled “Nothing New Today”. Care to share the story behind this song with our readers? Well Martin was rejected by a girl that he really liked. First, he was really pissed off and sad but instead, he wanted to put some good vibes and turned the bad story into a good one. So, that’s a mood of the song. The structure and the chords are really basic, but the song is just a real life story so, we hope that people can feel the good vibes in this song. It’s just a good summer song with a lot of good vibes and positive things into it. The song comes along with a music video available to watch on YouTube. Any funny stories to share from the shooting sessions? Well yeah, a lot. It was shot in Louvain-La-Neuve, a city that we love, a student city. The extras from the clip are strangers that were on our road so, we asked if they were okay to be part of this clip, they were really fun and kind. Then yeah, we just had a lot of fun at the beach too in Ostende before the peak of the Covid and the shot with Martin in his underwear was a fun time too because a lot of people were finding that dude really strange. The last words are for you. If you have any other projects in the making or a specific message to convey, feel free to talk about it! Well, thanks for having us, thanks to everybody supporting us with the new single. We have new songs coming up really soon and stay tuned for more shows in Belgium and Europe in 2020-2021. Our album is coming soon too. Stay cool, take care, love. Thanks for your time!
