Learn more about Prospectives' sophomore release “Unreal“!

Hello Prospective, thanks for taking time to answer a few questions for Distrolution. Could you please tell us who’s in your band and about how your band first formed? Hello and thanks to you for having us! We are Flavio Cacciari (Drums), Luca Zini (Vocals/Guitar), Pietro Serratore (Vocals), Davide Ruggeri (Guitar) and Stefano Baldanza (Bass). We are all from Bologna, Italy and we basically met each other at school, despite Stefano and Flavio, they’re friends since 8y.o. The band started as a solo project of our drummer and later in 2015 became a full band when Pietro joined us.
You plan on dropping your sophomore release, "Unreal", on March 9th 2018. Can you tell us more about it? What kind of songs can we indeed expect on this new record? It is by far our most sincere, heavy and emotional record so far. We wrote the record last summer and we focused on having more emotional and heavier riffs instead of more technical stuff, as we did on our previous album. Every single song on Unreal was picked up because it really fitted to what we wanted. People can expect every shape of what Prospective sound is like heavy songs, big choruses, instrumental relaxing song, acoustic stuff and for our ‘djenty’ fans, they can expect very tech stuff on some songs.
You decided to unveil your single 'So Far Gone' as a preview, along with a music video. How was the shooting experience? It was definitely one of the most amazing experience of our lives. We shot two music videos in two days in late November in this beautiful dismissed marm cave near Lucca in Tuscany (Italy) with our friend and director Donatello Viti. It was cold as north-pole with a glacial wind. It’s still unbelievable that none of us got a cold out there. When we got there we stayed for about 1 hour hanging on the location and taking pictures because of its stateliness. And that’s why we decided to pay homage into our second video (which will be released very soon) to this beautiful and amazing place our country has to offer. It was so “Unreal”.

Would you say that this song is the one that best reflects the spirit of your upcoming record? Why did you pick this track to promote your upcoming album, instead of another one? We don’t want to say that it is the best song on the record. But it definitely reflects the spirit of the album. When it was time to pick all the singles we sat down with our team to try to make the best decision and create a release schedule that could “guide” listeners to the release of the final product which is the album.
Apart from the release of your sophomore album, what else can we expect from Prospective in 2018? A tour, maybe? We have been busy getting ready for the release which will be followed by an Italian tour and we are now booking Europe and UK. So yes, definitely you can expect to see us somewhere across mainland Europe soon!
Watch out as the band's forthcoming sophomore release “Unreal“ will be out on March 9th, 2018!
