German rockers Silver May Snow took a few minutes to answer a couple of questions for us. Check out what they had to say about their debut album “The First Snow” and their video for single “Driver” in the following interview! Silver May Snow
Hello, Silver May Snow! Would you mind introducing your band to our readers? HI! We are a German Rock/Pop band from Cologne. The band was founded by our singer Maks and the Keyboarder Bad Mozart in 2017. With the current line-up (adding Juan and Thomas as guitar players) we started to work 1 year ago. For us, Music is the language of the soul. It brings the people together and connects them throughout the whole world. How would you describe the German rock scene from a global POV? German rock is on a high level, look at the Scorpions, Rammstein and others. And there is a huge market for that. Germany is a great place for rock music. A lot of people love rock and are listening to it. And it doesn’t matter if its new rock or old. You’ve released, back in October, music video for your single titled “Driver”. Would you mind introducing this song to our readers? Yeah, we released a full album in October, and it’s our debut album called The First Snow. "Driver" is the main single and one of our favourite songs.  It’s rocky and showing the spirit of challenges and the idea to be the first everywhere. Driver is an inspiring song to face all difficulties of life and to be ready to give the best you can to earn your place under the sun.
How was the shooting experience? Any funny story to share with us? It was really great, we had a shooting team from the Ukraine, and brought pretty girls, tons of equipment like Marshall walls and other music stuff. The best what we did experience: Dressed up in small kids Pyjamas, racing with kids’ bikes, we really hurt our asses… But that wasn’t the hardest thing. Holy paint was the hardest part of our shooting… It was everywhere… Mouth, costumes, skin, tooth, cameras, light equipment… We couldn’t clean it even after one week. This song is taken from your new album “The First Snow”. How long have you worked on this release? It took about 16 months to prepare all and make 4 music videos and this album. We are not just producing rock, we like to create different music, and we got a lot of ideas we can share with our listeners.
If you had to pick one song that, according to you, best reflects this album…which one would it be and why? We can’t pick that one song, we got some cool songs like Truth, Fast love, Touch and Bad girl. I think you definitely need to listen to these 4 songs to understand what we wanted to say. And everyone will find in these songs something interesting. Do you currently have any other projects in the making? Yes. Right now, we are working on a project together with Georgian band called trio Mandili. That’s going to be a cool folk and modern project. Also 2 videos are in post-production. There will be a burning piano, bike rides on a highway and the mystery of love. The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance! Never stop doing what you love the most. Keep searching for what really makes you happy. Sometimes things are not going in the right direction. Stay on your path. Don’t give up, create, and love.
