  • Impure Wilhelmina

    Impure Wilhelmina

    Line-up

    Michael Schindl: guitar, vocals
    Diogo Almeida: guitar
    Sebastien Dutruel: bass
    Mario Togni: drums

For over 20 years, Impure Wilhelmina has been creating music on the border between rock and metal. Over time, their line-up has much revolved around one of their founding members, Michael Schindl, main composer and lyricist. Several encounters have allowed the band to endlessly rethink their direction and make of each of their albums a singular piece, keeping a unique touch, mixing intensity, heaviness, melody and melancholy.

Impure Wilhelmina has released a 7’’, an MCD, a split and four albums.. Since 2001, the band has significantly collaborated with Serge Morattel for the recording and the production of their music. It is especially the case for the two albums which can be considered as the keystones of the band’s style; “I can’t believe I was born in July” (2003) and “L’amour, la mort, l’enfance perdue” (2005).

The following album, “Prayers and arsons” (2008) marks a new step in their evolution with the input of more rock styled elements. Impure Wilhelmina has continued to compose tracks keeping in mind that they must not rest on their laurels. Singing takes up more space and becomes clearer, to reinforce the intensity and the depth of the melodic component. It’s in this state of mind that the band has recorded “Black Honey”, which was released in early 2014. This record caused surprised and enthusiasm, revealing new multiple aspects in the music of the band.

Following the echo of « Black Honey », lmpure Wilhelmina signed a record deal with Season of Mist. In December 2015, the group began working on his new album, again recorded by Serge Morattel. This album, entitled « Radiation », and composed of 10 new tracks, will be released on July 2017 by Season of Mist.

Based in Geneva, Impure Wilhelmina performed in many European countries (Switzerland, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria…) for shows where the emotional panel conveyed by the music is still gaining in intensity.

  • Melted Space

    Melted Space

Melted Space is a project created in 2007 by pianist and composer Pierre Le Pape (Wormfood, Embryonic Cells). Influenced by metal, movie soundtracks and electronic music, he tries to create compositions mixing those styles. Here are the roots of a strange “world” : Melted Space! A world that would be the last step of Dante’s journey, a world occupied by lost and forgotten souls which tell their adventures to travelers. Sunk into oblivion, this is their only way to perpetuate their memory.

An instrumental self-produced album is recorded in 2009. A new universe opens itself to us, with its thousand facets. The stage is set: dark, obscure and full of memories like those of Dante, the Foucault’s Pendulum and the Sun, which guide us in this first journey.

In the meantime, Pierre throws himself into the composition process of a firmly more metal and symphonic album. In the form of an opera metal (the first one ever made in France), he brings us back in a fantastic world where Olympus gods meet with angels and demons.

To give life to this epic saga, Pierre surrounds himself with 26 singers and musicians from bands such as Hacride, Destinity, The Old Dead Tree, Carnival in Coal, Kells, Phazm, Gorod…Each member puts a lot of effort into his role, bringing depth and originality to his character or his instrumental part. This leads to a series of unexpected, powerful and rare meetings.

« From the Past » is released through Season of Mist in March 2012 and has received a huge national promotion thanks to Replica Promotion. The feedbacks are unanimously positive from the journalists and the audience, and Melted Space is quickly compared to the big productions for the quality of its music and its immersive 81-minute journey.

After the strong success of the previous album “From the Past”, Melted Space is back again with an intermediate album full of surprises dedicated to the Romulus and Remus legend. Liv Kristine (Leave’s Eyes) and Ashmedi (Melechesh), along with other singers, are part of the adventure.

Melted Space’s strange universe is opening its doors again, just forget hope and let yourself be guided…

  • Sifting

    Sifting

    Line-up

    Eduardo O Gil - guitar & vocals
    Richard Garcia - lead guitar
    Abelardo Bolano - drums
    Wins Jarquin - bass

SIFTING are a progressive rock metal band based in Los Angeles, CA who are strongly influenced by modern active rock. Their new album Not From Here was recorded and produced by award-winning producer Ryan Williams (Velvet Revolver, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine). Not From Here was released worldwide on September 29, 2017 via Eclipse Records.

Sifting was founded in 2010 by front man Eduardo 'Edu' Gil while originally living in Caracas, Venezuela. After suffering the loss of his mother and grandmother in a tragic plane crash, Edu began writing original material to cope with the loss of his family. He gathered some friends from the local music scene and entered the studio to record their debut album. The band quickly gained popularity throughout Venezuela and when Bullet for My Valentine was seeking support on their Latin American Tour in 2011, Sifting was the obvious choice. In 2012, the band completed a series of tours around the country, and finally released the album All the Hated in late 2013. Shortly thereafter, the band toured with Zapato 3, one of Venezuela’s most popular classic rock bands. Around the same time, their single “All The Hated” was chosen for the insanely popular Rock Band videogame. It was at this time after the success of their debut album, that Edu and his band received a significant influx of fans from the United States. They quickly realized that if they wanted to get the band recognized on a worldwide stage, they would need to relocate to the United States of America.

In early 2014, Edu and Abelardo Bolano (the drummer) left everything behind, and moved to Los Angeles, CA – the rock capital of the world. It wasn’t that difficult for them, as they had some help from several fans which were anxiously awaiting their arrival. Edu and Abelardo quickly brought in Wins Jarquin on bass, and Richard Garcia on guitar. The band was now reborn. Their American fans were thrilled at the band’s arrival stateside, and Sifting started doing what they do best… gigging and writing new material for a second full-length album.

Things started happening quickly for the band. They were able to line up endorsement deals with ESP Guitars, Engl Amplification, and Spector Guitars (just to name a few). In 2015, they caught the attention of producer Steve Evetts (Suicide Silence, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Sense’s Fail) and recorded a three song EP entitled Blurry Paintings. From there, the band was approached by Ryan Williams, who recorded and produced their debut full-length album Not From Here in late 2016. Immediately afterwards, the band hit the road for a thirty-date North American tour. They have consistently performed up and down the West Coast since.

The band signed with Eclipse Records in the Spring of 2017, and have released their debut full length album Not From Here on September 29, 2017.

  • Black Book Lodge

    Black Book Lodge

    Line-up

    Ronny Jønsson: Guitar, Vocals
    Kristian Klærke: Guitars
    Steve Ardilsø: Bass
    Jakob Gundel: Drums

The guitars are tuned low and the tempo is kept slow. Welcome inside Black Book Lodge. It's heavy, it's groovy and it's ready to rock your world.

The Danish quartet plays stoner rock. They love their riffs and going heavy on you – but at the same time they dig a good melody. Singer Ronny Jønsson's vocals touch upon notes that may be reminiscent of the soaring musings of Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age. In that sense, Black Book Lodge's music will appeal to rock and metal fans alike.

In 2014 Black Book Lodge put out their critically acclaimed debut album Tûndra, and their sophomore album - Entering Another Measure - will be out in June.

    Hands of Despair

    Line-up

    Alexandre Primeau - Guitars
    Jeff Mott - Vocal Cords
    Etienne Gallo - Drums
    Francois-Xavier Jodoin - Bass
    Maxime Cote - Guitars

Hands of despair has been a solo project by Maxime Côté for a long time before being a complete band as it is right now. During 2009-2010, Maxime produced two demos, which were released only digitally. He learned a lot from producing these demos, and the process gave him the experience to accomplish an album such as Hereafter, released only digitally in 2011. For Hereafter, Maxime surrounded himself with excellent musicians, including Lyle Cooper (ex-The faceless) on drums, and Egan O'Rourke (Daylight dies) on clean vocals, to achieve an album that has a professional, multi-faceted sound. Mixing the brutality of death metal, complex structures of progressive metal, darkness of black metal and despair of doom metal, Hereafter is an epic journey that should be listened from the first song to the last. The project went on hiatus in 2012, but then came back stronger than ever in the shape of a complete band during summer 2014. New line-up features known members of the Quebec metal scene, including Jeff Mott from Hollow, and Etienne Gallo from Augury/Talamyus. Hands of despair are currently putting the last touches to the song-writing of a complete, new opus, which will be out by the end of 2015.
