  • The Bare Minimum

    The Bare Minimum

The Bare Minimum are a Toronto skate-punk band in the tradition of S.N.F.U, Propagandhi, and Belvedere with video game inspired riffs and a self-heckling sense of humour. Their wide stylistic range, from thrash ragers to acoustic scream-a-longs, is threaded together by their catchy, frantic delivery. Somewhere between irony and nihilism, The Bare Minimum subvert pop songs into meditations on bar culture, post-everything boredom, and scene politics.

Besides haunting basement bars and house parties, The Bare Minimum have played CMW, NXNE, Pouzza Fest and toured Ontario in a hilariously tiny car.

  • Waiting For Yesterday

    Waiting For Yesterday

Waiting For Yesterday started sometime in the early 2000's, when Beau and Tom decided to pick up some instruments and play crappy punk rock songs. Briefly playing under the name Good Sense, among other fantastic names, they eventually landed on Waiting For Yesterday. Fast forward ten years and here they are again. This time with the help of two past members who had always stayed friends, Tyler and Gus. Their debut album 'Elementary, My Dear Watson' is a collection of old 'high school' songs, written between 2004 and 2007, about girls, parties and some heavier topics. While making the record Gus and Tyler became official members of the band again, solidifying the WFY lineup for the first time in almost 10 years. With everything in place WFY is finally ready to take Pop-Punk and the world head on.

Squidhead was born somewhere around 2009 in Belgium as an instrumental solo project (with the Painter doing everything from guitars, bass, programming to mix and mastering duties) and become an official act at the end of 2013 to finally release his debut EP “Prohibition” in 2014.

After receiving al lot of positive reviews from more than 50 magazines and webzines around the Globe, the solo act slowly evolved into an actual band with the addition of 2 new members on vocals and Bass. This new entity quickly started to work on their debut album and the new image of the band.

After more than 3 years of writing/composing work and a mix/mastering done by HK Krauss at Vamacara Studio (Clisson) during summer 2017, the band is finally unveiling their first full length album “Cult(ist)” in March 2018.

Using strange masked characters as alter egos, the Squidhead plays a mix of modern death metal with melodic licks and industrial elements on 8 strings guitar, with lyrics and imagery inspired by the horrific universe of the writer HP Lovecraft.

Right now, the band is ready to hit the stages and finally spread his madness among the living.

Hail Caesar, we who about to Party salute you!

Inspired by Asking Alexandria, Enter Shikari, Eskimo Callboy, Crossfaith, and Bring Me The Horizon , WE HAVE THE MOON describe their unique sound as “sparkling, powerful, brave, passionate, genuine.”

Recently signed to Rockshots Records, they will release their aptly-titled concept album ‘Till The Morning Comes’ on February 23, 2018. Start the party countdown now!

WE HAVE THE MOON live for their band…and to party!

“The band is the strongest thing in our lives. We want to entertain and captivate, sharing our passion with as many people as possible…The moon represents the night, where our songs often take place. We own the night…We Have The Moon! Our lyrics are inspired by personal experiences, we think that having experienced in the first place certain situations is the best way to transmit them loud and clear…the concept is the party that takes place all night long!” says vocalist Makku.

Live, WE HAVE THE MOON promise…

“Energy, fun and engagement! We believe that these are the things that most distinguish our live shows, which we do coincidentally call parties! Those who know us can really see how much we change during the concert, compared to ‘behind the scenes’. The party lyrics are fully mirrored by the brilliant and catchy sound of our arrangements. Listening to our glittering sounds, anyone can imagine situations like those we describe in our songs. We expect our listeners to be reflected in the songs and what they describe, as well as them getting closer to the band’s feeling.”

Vortigern — Guitar, Vocals & Piano
    T. J. F. Vallely — Drums
    S. D. Lindsley — Guitar
    A. K. Webb — Bass

Lychgate was formed in 2011 by Vortigern (guitars) with the collaboration of G. A. Chandler (vocals and guitars), Aran (Bass) and T. J. F. Vallely (drums). The debut album, self-titled, was recorded in 2012 and released in the first quarter of 2013. The debut album material was, however, old before it was recorded; based on pre-Lychgate material from between 2006 and 2010. The response from the press was nevertheless strong, with very positive reviews being common.

Between January 2012 and December 2013, Vortigern wrote material for the second album entitled An Antidote for the Glass Pill, which was almost entirely recorded at Priory Studios intermittently in the second half of 2014. After successful sessions it was then offered to the Finnish/USA label Blood Music (Emperor, Ihsahn, Perturbator, Sigh etc.) who released the work in August 2015. The main focus on this album was with the utilisation of the pipe organ as the backbone to all pieces, where formerly this instrument had only occasional parts to play. To achieve its grandeur and authenticity on recording the band invited Kevin Bowyer to perform the organ parts.

With the second album came a switch to a much more advanced approach to song-writing. The sound which was born represented the meeting of two worlds: the juxtaposition between “correct” harmony (traditional) and departures from it (current). Influences come from classical repertoire (particularly the early 20th century era), the musique concréte movement and 1950s–1970s-era cinema. These range from Art Zoyd and Autopsia, to J. S. Bach, Liszt and Messiaen, to classic names in the metal genre spectrum such as Bathory, Mayhem and Abigor.

In general, Lychgate’s music is often characterised by the dense layering of guitars, stacking together a rich combination of octaves and harmony, which morph with the organ performance, resulting in a unique texture and colour. The compositions often feature variations in tempo, meter and dynamics; sometimes overwhelming in nature such as the crescendo at the end of the track “Letter XIX”. Moods, although mainly atmospheric, range from subdued and reflective to brooding and aggressive. The press have already acknowledged avant-garde overtones in the music, which set the project apart from usual album releases. A European tour was conducted in November 2015 to coincide with the second album release.
