The French rockers Saint Evil Street talk about their EP, “Cursed”!

Hello, Saint Evil Street! Thanks for your time! For those who don’t know you yet, would you mind introducing your band to our readers? Hello everyone, we are saint Evil Street, a power trio band created in France. We’re Octavio at the guitar and vocals, Valerian at the drums and Valentin at the bass. How would you describe the music scene in France? France has a very particular music scene, that can go from the acoustic pop to the brutal metal and all that a few meters away from each other. And that makes it very interesting and convenient for a band like us! We look for a balance between these two publics, and France is ideal for that. Your debut EP offers a wide range of musical style. From your own point of view, how would you describe the sound of “Cursed”, in general? We have a sound based in movements, based in surrealist stories, based on duality. And the music and lyrics are chained together! They maintain a constant metamorphosis of ideas always based on a vicious circle. https://soundcloud.com/user-605741835/sets/cursed How do you manage your time between your personal life and the band? Isn’t it hard? It is true that the time necessary to dedicate it to music is very important. But there comes a time when you get used to managing the music and your personal life together, as the band becomes a habit and over time, it’s easy to deal with that. Octavio, you’re currently living in Germany, while your bandmates are in France. How are you going to organize your band rehearsals, being in another country? Yes, this is a big deal for us, but the band keeps a very nice relationship. And it’s just a question of a very good organization. Now, at rehearsals, we will have more beers!!! It took a really long time to officially release this album. Now that it’s out, can we say that you guys are no longer “Cursed”? (Laugh) Yes, it took long to get this EP, but this is part of the fun, the curse ended, and we still have a lot to work! And fortunately, the band gets stronger with those little circumstances, like a bone, it becomes stronger after being broken. Tell us one thing no one else knows about this EP. Sure, even Val and Val ignored that secret. I modified some lyrics during the voice recording sessions, I was following instinct and I had last minute inspiration, and it worked. Hehe... If you had to pick one song on this record that best reflects its overall spirit, which one would you pick and why? I would honestly say "Lying with the truth". It’s a song I wrote a long time ago, and it reflects a lot of things happening in my life. It’s a song that smells like those days and listening to it makes me feel good, like when you visit a place of childhood. https://soundcloud.com/user-605741835/3-lying-with-the-truth?in=user-605741835/sets/cursed Are you happy with the feedback you received so far, from both your fans and the media? Honestly, we are very glad for the feedback and we must once again thank everyone who has been standing with us since the beginning of the band. We thank you all. The last words are for you. If you have a message to convey, here’s your chance! Thank you so much for this interview and thanks to all of you who have been supporting us all this time. Soon, we will be bringing more saint Evil Street to you. Thank you!
