Swarmageddon's guitarist talks about the band's new album!

I'm back this week with a brand new interview, introducing you guys this time to the French metal band Swarmageddon. Guillaume, guitarist and composer, was kind enough to answer a couple of questions linked to the band's new album, “Inhuman”. Check out the full interview below! Swarmageddon
Hello Swarmageddon, thanks for your time. Would it be please possible to introduce your band to our readers, as well as your roles in it? Hi, I’m Guillaume. I’m the guitarist and composer of the band. Swarmageddon is a kind of progressive/melodic death metal band from Besançon (France). This is a kind of mix of every metal subgenre, depending on what track you listen to. With a worldwide pandemic going on, how have you handled the management of your band over the past few months? The quarantine was not a big problem at the beginning because we were working on the album. And taking some time after the writing process and the record was restful. Unfortunately, nothing came back as before. So right now, we have a lot to think about how we should promote our album. Your new album, “Inhuman”, is now out worldwide. How long have you worked on this release? We have started writing new songs just before the release of our previous EP, so it was around October 2018. We contacted the studio to block a date and have a deadline in the middle of 2019, for February 2020. So it takes something like 1 year and half. We wanted to release something quickly, to show our motivation.
Any funny story to share from your recording or writing sessions? Not really haha, maybe the fact that Morgan, our new Guitar player, joined the band only a week before the recording. He couldn’t come with us for professional reasons, so he rewrote and recorded all the solos at home during the month. For the next album, we can work together for the entire process, and that should add a big value to our music. If you had to pick one song that, according to you, best reflects the spirit of your album. Which one would you pick and why? It’s hard because we try to give every song something unique. But I want to say “The Fall”. It’s the most contrasted song we have. Really, melodic/fast at the beginning, going to soft cleans parts, black metal parts, through progressive/core vibe and heavy prog Solo. We are really proud of this song.
Can we talk about the amazing artwork of this album? Who designed it and what’s the story behind it? This artwork is designed by Caelan Stokkerman. He is a graphic designer based out of Cleveland, Ohio. He has worked for really famous bands such as Inferi or Misery Index. But we have found him through Deviant Art when we were searching for the cover of the album. When we found this one, we all said “Yes, that’s the one”. Our interpretation of this, is a giant machine god, being praised by the last humans. It symbolizes that we have to care for life and the planet, before searching for more needless technological evolution. Swarmageddon
I’m sure you are, like a lot of people, missing live shows. Do you already have some dates planned for the end of the year or 2021? Absolutely not! Something is on the way, but it’s really hard to know if it could happen. Maybe at the beginning of 2021... wait and see. The last words are for you.
