Rain Check talk about joining the Penultimate Records family!

Hello Rain Check. Hope you're doing great! First of all, thanks for taking time to chat with me. For those who are not familiar with your band, could you please introduce yourselves, as well as your roles in Rain Check? Tyler and I sing. Tim and I play rhythm guitar. Neil and I play drums. Jesse and I play bass. Drew and I play lead guitar. For those who have never heard your songs, how would you describe your sound overall? We draw influence from a bunch of bands so it’s hard to pin down. If you like bands like Citizen, Trophy Eyes, or Balance and Composure you will get an idea of what we sound like. We always talk about making a wall of sound. We want it to be something you can feel. Not just lyrically but musically as well. 2018 sees your band signing with the record label Penultimate Records. In concrete terms, what do you hope this signing will bring to your band? First and foremost would be that it helps us reach more people. The more people that listen the better. Penultimate also fills in a lot of the gaps that we had with our band too. They have greater access to things and are able to help us do stuff we either couldn't do or would have a very hard time doing on our own. You also stated that you will release your new single "Drown" as well as our second EP later this year. Can you tell us more about your upcoming EP? The EP will probably sound a little different than the last one. Those songs were written over an extended period of time so the new EP will feel more cohesive. That being said we have spent more time analyzing these songs and trying to make them the best version of that song we can. Drown is a really good example of that. The original idea was really simple but it became such a good song as we worked on it. The one thing for sure is that it will sound big. We want that wall of sound. Last but not least, what would you say has been the biggest highlight of your band’s career so far? Signing with Penultimate for sure. As a band you work really hard to convince people to take your art as seriously as you take it and to have someone that believes in it like you do and wants to help you succeed is amazing. It's been a dream so far and we have high expectations of what we can accomplish together. Thanks for your time!
