Hello ORBIT CULTURE, thanks for your time. Would it be possible to introduce your band to our readers, as well as your roles in it? Hello, readers of Distrolution! We are Orbit Culture. A four-piece metal band from the heart of Sweden. Our line-up consists of; Niklas Karlsson – Vocals, Guitars Richard Hansson – Lead Guitar Fredrik Lennartsson – Bass Christopher Wallerstedt – Drums
How would you describe the Swedish metal scene from your personal POV? We have many great underground metal bands here in Sweden and the people in those are very driven. Just look at Imminence, Normandie, HLB and those bands. I’ve always loved the drive and passion when it comes to the underground metal/rock scene here in Sweden. Sweden Rock Festival and those other rock/metal festivals here are growing each year, however, from my perspective, the smaller shows I’ve attended too are kind of hurting. People are more interested in going to the clubs and stuff these days. I’m not a very active concert-goer however, so I might be very wrong. With a worldwide pandemic going on, how have you handled the management of your band?    Yes, it’s horrible. We try the best we can to live through it though. We are working hard on getting video content and stuff like that online for the fans. We are also working very hard by rehearsing to become as tight as we can get. We’ll be ready to play live once this Corona-shit has calmed down, for sure. Your new album “Nija” was recently released. How long have you worked on this record? We worked more or less for two years on it. We did four videos for the singles from the album, so that took some time too. We are very happy with the record and I hope people are enjoying it as much we had fun making it.
Any funny story to share from your recording sessions? I had crazy amount of technical difficulties going in to the recording of this album. Everything from hard drives failing, motherboards burning up and electrical noise finding its way into the guitar sound. So, I guess it wasn’t that fun, haha! But now when I look back at it, those things were needed to help shape the tone and feel of the album. Hidden sadness covered by huge amounts of aggressiveness. Releasing something often means tour support. Do you guys already have some dates planned for the end of the year or 2021? We have some plans, like playing several Impericon Festival shows. We also have one or two festival shows booked in for 2021. We are in the planning stage of getting a larger tour together for the beginning of the year, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for that one. Orbit Culture
