Get to know the death metal quintet Infected Dead!

Hello Infected Dead, thank you so much for taking time to chat with us, here, at Distrolution. First of all, could you please introduce your band to our readers and tell us about how it first formed? Hey, thanks for talking to us. We are Infected Dead, we're a modern death metal 5-piece from Medway in Kent (UK) and we formed right at the end of 2014. Previously we were all in different local death metal bands. We formed Infected Dead when a couple of those came to an end. We spent the next 18 months writing material before finally completing our line-up in the summer of 2016. Your debut EP 'Archaic Malevolence' is available now on CD, digital download and all streaming services. Can you tell us more about this release? What's the story behind it? We knew we wanted to push ourselves on our first release and spent a long time developing our sound. 'Archaic Malevolence' is a mix of a lot of elements from right across the death metal spectrum, combined with a bit of eldritch Lovecraftian horror. It embodies what we're about and we're really happy to finally have it out in the world. Before the release date, you guys dropped many videos to promote each single. And each time, they were featured through a guitar cover from your lead guitarist Alex Brown. Where did you get this original idea? Guitar playthroughs have become really prevalent online thanks to Youtube and some draw massive numbers of views. We thought a playthrough would be a great way to showcase the technicality of a track like 'Samsara'. And we've been really pleased with the response so far. You will be joining an insane line-up at Cathays Youth & Community Centre for Chaos Festival on Saturday, February 17th. Being on the line-up of big shows like this one, what does it mean to you? We we're incredibly honoured to be invited the play Chaos Fest. The line-up is amazing and we cant wait to share the stage with the likes of Abhorrent Decimation, Devangelic and Unfathomable Ruination. Hopefully we'll have some more shows of a similar caliber to announce soon. Tell us one random fun fact about each band member of the band. Alex has a Deathstar tattoo. Nathan is literally made of metal. Chris is often mistaken for a UFC fighter. Martin likes Jazz and Classical music, and Lou will do almost anything for Pizza. Last but not least. Out of all the experiences you had as a band, has there been a particular one that has stood out to you? The most obvious one would be playing Bloodstock festival last summer. We met some great people and had an excellent response to our set. The Metal 2 The Masses final was also a big deal, as well as the Easter show in Brighton which was headined by Immolation & Vader. We've had a great 2017 in general really and we cant wait to see what the next year brings.
