Get to know more about Japanese alternative rockers NOISEMAKER

For the people who might discover you for the first time, could you tell us a bit more about NOISEMAKER and its history?
Hi everyone, I’m AG and I’m the lead singer of NOISEMAKER, a 4-piece rock band from Japan. The band is comprised of guitarist HIDE who's my older brother, drummer UTA and bassist Yu-ki. We’ve known each other and have been friends since we were vocational school students. We made this band 10 years ago in Sapporo (Hokkaido), our hometown located in northern Japan. Hokkaido is a freezing place during winter, but there are great ski resorts and lots of puffy snow! The band’s name represents the fact that we’re not bound by one style or any genres, we basically love too many different kinds of music to fit into one box. You've just dropped the video for your new single "NAME" and your upcoming EP “RARA” is going to be released in Japan on January 23rd, will it be available worldwide?
Of course ! But it’s only going to be on subscription and streaming. I hope our music can reach as many people as possible, all over the world. Help us spread our music please! (laughing) [embed] Track listing:01. RARA AVIS

I know you are really involved and dedicated to your art, can you tell us a bit more about your vision?
I like art in general and being creative! I'm always drawing some visuals for the band or my personal projects. We usually design and make our own merch, for instance, we’ve made jackets, t-shirts, hoodies and many other stuff since we've started this band. HIDE and I held an exhibition last year as our common project called “DOTS COLLECTIVE”.Concerning the artwork of RARA, there is a whole story behind it, I've heard its cost was more or less 10 million yen, is it for real!?
Yes indeed! This time, the artwork of RARA is by the artist “WK interact” from New York City. He is one of my favorite street artist, probably since I was a teenager. I’ve got truly inspired by his work and now it’s deeply rooted in my persona and my art. WK interact has collaborated for Supreme, Stussy, Nike, Yohji Yamamoto. I can’t believe one of my dream has come true! How was the process to work with him?
We contacted him to propose him a collaboration. We got a reply and he asked us “Could you look for a 10m x 10m wall in Tokyo?” (laughing) At first I thought he was joking, but not at all, so we weren't sure we would be able to find a massive wall. I mean, it's Tokyo, a clean wall to serve as canvas? No way !!! (laughing) After having spent some time, our team came across a big 12m x 10m wall, a gem in the back alleys of Shibuya (the actual address is: Shibuya-ku Sakuragaoka 3-20). As you imagine, It took us several days to make it happen and now, when we look at it, we are so proud! This is the best artwork so far! What I am really happy about it, is the fact that WK decided to make this artwork after having listened to RARA. He got the inspiration from the songs and turned it into an incredible visual masterpiece!
Wow, this is so cool! Art and music blending in, dope! Speaking of music, as teenagers, what kind of bands would you listen to?
Oh, I can’t write them all! (hahaha) There are so many! I would listen to Linkin Park, Incubus, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, POD , Deftones , Korn, Limp Bizkit, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, The Ataris, Comeback Kid, Oasis, Marvelous 3, Vertical Horizon, Michael Jackson and so on.Looking back at your evolution, have you got any advices you would give your younger self?
Learn more! Especially about various topics and things you don't understand. Also, don't wait to buy a Mac or a PC! (hahaha)What’s your recipe for success?
Trust yourself, do what you love, and love the people who trust you!Good pieces of advice! So if you were not playing music in a band, what would you be doing?
I'd be drawing art or making movies. I can’t help it, I just love expressing myself and creating stuff. On the other hand, I would have loved to be an astronaut, discover space, galaxies and the whole universe. What can we expect for the band in the near future, Any plans on touring Abroad?
We've got an upcoming tour to support the release of RARA and we are usually touring only in Asia. I always fathom that it would be cool to play more and more abroad. I want to tour all over the world in a near future: UK, US, Europe ... so please support us!
