Fight for Friday discuss recently released music video!

Fight For Friday are inspired by the likes of The Story So Far and New Found Glory. They’re indeed creating a scrappy and lively pop-punk, in combination with flairs borrowed from classic rock and hardcore. The band is now pleased to give you further insight into their recently released video single… Fight For Friday


Why you pick ‘Target Practice’ as a track to record a video for? We picked Target Practice mainly because it’s 100% the best song we’ve ever written. It’s definitely the perfect representation of everything were about and we absolutely love the track! The song has a lot of meaning to us lyrically and as a yardstick for writing songs in the future. So we want everyone to hear it and love it as much as we do. Can you tell us what the video is about and how the concept for it came about? There’s not a huge amount of meaning to the video. But we feel like it perfectly captures our energy as a band and gives out the right emotions to add to the song. It’s pretty much 3 minutes of raw simplicity that shows our passion and angst, when performing, almost a homage to our live shows. Where did you shoot it? We shot the video in Seb’s living room. The idea pretty much came from the fact that we live in an area with literally no cool places. We got inspired to use this setting from the ROAM music video for their banger ‘Warning Sign’. It looked mega cool that they shot a music video for that song in a living room. So we thought it’d be a sick place to film aswell, although we didn’t have the weather for a slip n’ slide unfortunately… Who was your director? It was all pretty DIY. Our mate Sam O’Donnell agreed to filming and editing the video for us. It was a really cool experience to film with someone who you know quite well. And who’s into the whole pop punk scene too. He did an amazing job for us and we’re really thankful to him for that, he’s helped us out a lot with this EP campaign, creating a load of videos/pictures for us to use, which we didn’t expect from him at all! He’s a strong part of our local music scene being in Wolfpeake, definitely worth a shoutout. Tell us about anything interesting or unusual that happened… As far as interesting goes, probably not. If you look closely though you can see all our fast food wrappers left on the table in the corner at certain points as we’re all too lazy to properly tidy up. It looks kinda cool though. Sorry not sorry? And finally, what are your thoughts on the outcome? The outcome was everything we wanted and more! We watched it back and it felt like a song we were listening to for the first time, as if we hadn’t heard it over a million times when recording it in the studio. It was a bit surreal as well as far as this being our first music video, we didn’t know how well we could perform behind the camera. But like we said, the energy was well and truly captured in this video and we want everyone to see it.
