British punkers Almeida drop new music video "A song for Europe"
It sums up the liberating but incredibly self-conscious feeling of touring Europe shortly after the 2016 EU referendum. Especially since that time, we’ve felt far more at home on stage and at shows on the mainland than we do back in England, where the atmosphere and attitude to those deemed to be outsiders or ‘traitors’ has become so dangerously toxic. The ‘elephant in the room’ relates to the inescapable embarrassment that came from introducing ourselves as being from the UK. Everybody wanted to ask about Brexit, and of course it was the thing we were least excited to talk about. Despite the frustrating subject matter, I'm proud of us for managing to get this out today, and really happy that the initial plan of releasing it on 'Brexit Day' fell through because the Tories have not been able to deliver it, rather than us not being able to get our act together. It's a tough old time for small bands, and from the sounds of it, it's going to get even more tricky. Please support your favourite artists in any way you can.You can also get some limited edition "A song for Europe" merch on the band's Bandcamp.
