    Why T-Rex Why?

In line with bands like Blink 182, New Found Glory or State Champs, Why Trex Why? is allied between Pop / Punk and Punk / Rock, in a style of their own.

Founded in 2016 by Tom (drums) and Rem (guitar) after inconclusive experiences with various formations (SOE, Winter Five, All Way Down ...), WTW? really embodies the idea that the two friends wanted to convey.

By moving forward in the project, the need to recruit had become essential. Lenny's experience and charisma on bass (Non Fiction) seduced them. Later, Laura (vocals) put her vocal lines on the existing instrumental pieces with a lot of energy. The magic immediately worked!

A successful first time at the Calonne Ricouart Forum Festival has allowed them to have a very good impact on this project and an EP is actually being prepared.

  • Black Bell Tone

    Black Bell Tone

Black Bell Tone started in March 2017 when the official team got together for the first time. All band members came from previous projects: Taba Kuntz - Vocal/Guitar (Sandálias), Nando Pontin - Guitar (Dissométrica), Lucas Pontin - Bass (Dissométrica) and Fernando Paulista - drums (Wannabe Jalva).

From day one, the experience acquired along the road with their former bands has brought focus and contributed to the B.B.T.’s planning. At first, the goal was to work on new songs and make them public as soon as possible. However, the band started to worry about how long it would take and so decided to go public with everything behind the scenes from the very beginning! Thus, everything has been recorded and posted in order to bring the public closer to the daily routine of a band. They called it “the birth of a band”.

And that has been going on over the past few months. Black Bell Tone has been showing rehearsals, recording sessions and other activities related to the production and creation of the songs. eventually it is time to officially release the Band’s first single and video!

On November 13th 2017 B.B.T. went live on Facebook and Instagram for the release of “and the moonlight on the river takes to wolfpacks bay”. The song was composed, arranged, produced, recorded and mixed by B.B.T and mastered by Alex Wharton (Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Pixes) from the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London U.K. The videoclip is a co-production of Estúdio Nando and Colateral Filmes.

In the beginning of 2018 another single and video will be ready and by the end of the year the debut album will be on the way! that is how the story has been told, day by day, song by song, moment by moment. Would you like to know more about it? Watch our videos on our website and all the other social media available! Go, Black Bell Tone!

  • Harker

    Harker

To disect Harker it's imporant to look at their influences. Growing up on a healthy diet of New Jersey and Chicago punk rock bands, Harker, like many their age, spent their formative years learning the lyrics to albums like ‘Goddamnit’ and ‘Hopeless Romantic’ front to back. This style of high-energy ‘cards on the table’ punk rock served them well and laid important foundations for the group, however was something they always wanted to “improve upon,” rather than just “settle” with and led them down a path towards the 'guitar orientated' work of artists like Buffalo Tom and Dinosaur Jnr.

Initially beginning as an acoustic project back in 2014, Mark recruited the current formation of Harker across the span of three EP’s – Hours (2014), Gasping For Air (2014) and A Lifetime Apart (2015), the latter picked up by Less Than Jake drummer Vinnie Fiorello’s Paper + Plastick imprint for release in the United States. Joined by Tony Ware (Guitar), Phoebe Saunders (Bass/Vocals) and Matt Claxton (Drums), the band began to incorporate more sophisticated influences into their songs, embracing the fuzz laden frenzy of artists like The Replacements, The Wedding Present and Husker Du.

“We’re not really the same band anymore,” explains guitarist, Tony. “Anyone who saw us in the early days would probably remember us a really acoustic-orientated band. We love those songs but we wanted to make everything fuzzier, poppier and LOUDER, which is why we switched to two electrics”.
Entering the studio with producer Tim Greaves at Southsea Sound, the band began work on their debut album - No Discordance with plans to create a “huge sounding record”:

“When I listen to early Jimmy Eat World, or an album like ‘Seamonsters’ by the Wedding Present, I’m always astounded how they managed to capture all the carnage and noise – it’s like lightening in a bottle. If we could even emulate half of that then we’d have accomplished what we set out to do” explains Tony.

Building on the success of their early success Harker quickly earned a solid reputation on the UK punk and indie rock circuits. Plying their trade across the UK and mainland Europe, the band has already shared the stage with the likes of Creeper, Boston Manor, Moose Blood, Red City Radio & Off With Their Heads and have no plans on slowing down anytime soon, with a tour with Miss Vincent about to begin and 2018 tour dates to be announced in due course.

‘No Discordance’ is out Friday 9th February on Disconnect, Disconnect & Future Void (UK), Fond of Life (EU), Shield Recordings (EU), Fixing A Hole (JP) and Wiretap Records (USA).

With their previous outputs described as “a fleshed out ruckus punk rock assault” (Alreadyheard.com) with songs that “should turn the heads of punk fans from all walks of life” (ThePunkSite.com) Harker are chomping at the bit to live up to high expectations voiced by critics and fans alike.

  • Dowzer

    Dowzer

In their ten years of existence Dowzer has created their own blend of punkrock which pops with melody and vocal harmonies, but also bursts with power and versatility to keep you on the edge of your seat. After playing shows all over Europe, putting out records reaching from Breda, the Netherlands to Tokyo, Japan and gaining experience from former bands (New Pokerface, Harsh Realms, This City Shines, Delychees) this band has grown to a punkrock bullet train that can’t be stopped and you shouldn’t miss out on.

  • For I Am

    For I Am

Remember For I Am? Yes, this female-fronted pop-punk band from Belgium is still around. They briefly considered calling it a day following the release of their debut EP, “15 Minutes Late”. That way they could plan a profitable reunion further down the line. But they figured it wasn’t worth the hassle. Plus the band didn’t want to disappoint their fans. All seven of them.

I’m kidding of course. These Belgian dudes and one dudette are doing a great job. And have at least eight fans.

As can be seen on the artwork of “15 Minutes Late”, For I Am hit the ground running. They played over 50 shows this year alone, opening for the likes of Strung Out (three times!), Astpai and Apologies, I Have None, Death By Stereo, Chumped, The Smith Street Band and Tender Defender to name but a few.

On top of that, they got to show off their skills and guitarist Bjorn’s ever-expanding tattoo collection at festivals like Punk Rock Holiday, Brakrock Ecofest and Funtime Fest as well as during a week-long tour with stops in Holland, Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Slovenia.

Along the way they sold +600 copies of “15 Minutes Late”, which is about 592 more than they were hoping for. Encouraged by this, they went back to the studio and recorded “All About Perspectives”, their very first full-length. The album comes with twelve songs that range from the upbeat “Nightburn” to the raw “Laundry Man” and the softer “(Make It Out) Alive and features guest vocals by Altitude’s Daniël Van Pijlen, FOD’s Hans Roofthooft and Tim Van Doorn.

“All About Perspectives” finds For I Am sounding more confident than ever before. They still pack plenty of energy and stay true to their love of big hooks, but they have also grown as songwriters in the past two years.

  • No Matching Socks

    No Matching Socks

A couple of years ago five guys started their rash adventure in a sweaty shed. No experience but an illimitable amount of craving. Inspired by years of listening to NOFX, Bigwig and lots of old punk. The lineup changed a bit and now three man remained: Rob, Oey and Harry. Don’t think too much, just act. And that has already brought them to opening for bands as The Adolescents, U.K. Subs, Candy Snatchers, C.J. Ramone and The Riverboat Gamblers, the main hall of 013 Tilburg and a sold out Dynamo Eindhoven. They won the audience award at the Lucas Dec Bokaal, went on DIY tour in England, Germany and Belgium and played at Paaspop Festival 2013. Always hard, fast and with a frayed edge. And of course unlimited backing vocals.

Never whine, always enthusiastic and overwhelming the crowd with al they have. Whether it’s a backyard, a squat or a stage: they play wherever the socks don’t match.

And sometimes they bring along The Bralf on trombone. Sometimes.

  • Chump

    Chump

Chump’ story starts in the late 90’s. Niko and Bruno, influenced by bands like Green Day, NOFX, Lagwagon, Bad Relgion, No Use For A Name, decided to create a band to be able to cover some of their favorite songs and also to try to play some of their own.
« Live At The Botanique » - 14 songs - has been recorded in January 2001 at the “Orangerie” room of the Botanique in Brussel (Belgium).

At the end of 2002, the band went to Average Records studio for their first non-live CD : « First Shit » - 5 songs -.

In 2003, the song « Sublimation » was recorded at Noise Farm Studio and was added to the compilation album « Blanc, Bleu, Belge ». This song is still an anthem against animal abuse.

This song was also on the next CD: « Survive ». Out in 2004, this 4 tracks CD was entirely recorded and produced by the band.

Chump hit the stage all over Belgium (Wallonie, Brussel & Vlaanderen) in the early 00’s. They have shared the stage with Belgian punkrock/rock bands like Hangin’ Out, Wash Out Test, Skaïra, Skarbone 14, State Of Nature, Nervous Chillin, DaFamilia, Flatcat, Hulk….

The band was involved in many events and gigs, from DYI scene to large festivals.

With this CD (Survive), the band has reach some large festival such as Nandrin Festival (Belgium) and share the stage with international bands such as Big D and the Kids Table (Boston, USA), Carving / Skip The Use (France), P.O.BOX (France) …

In 2005, Chump has recorded and produced a split CD with the band Dumbfound : « Chump VS Dumbfound ». Each band has recorded 5 songs. Chump split few months later. They wanted to be fully focused on their upcoming hard-rock project: On The Rocks.

11 years later, original members Niko and Bruno decided that the 90’s punkrock band has to come back to life and hit the stage again. Chump start to rehearse again in summer 2015. A new line up is poping up with Régis on the bass (ex-Dumbfound), and Antho on the drums. 90’s punkrock is still there and a lot of new songs are recorded.

On 2016 August 1st , a brand new EP “Ready To Strike” is released. They quickly come back on stage after the release playing with STRUNG OUT (USA), doing a Tour in France and hitting the punkrock Belgian scene. “ID Card” is also released on a Canadian VA “Ca Tire Vol 2.”.

Summer 2017, the band lineup is evolving again. Roman (bass) and Raf (drums) are now full time members of Chump.

  • Resistors

    Resistors

Resistors started in Brooklyn in 2012, when guitarist/vocalist Scott Wolff (Pumps, Bound & Buried, Moving Target) realized that he had a bunch of songs and no band, so he went into the studio to make a record on his own. The result was a bit of a throwback to the 1990’s melodic punk scene he grew up in, drawing influence from Good Riddance, 88 Fingers Louie and Bad Religion.

The band has released several LPs and EPs, and were also featured on the compilation for the documentary, A Fat Wreck, with their cover of the Good Riddance classic “Stand.”

To capitalize on their most successful release, Drag, Resistors immediately went into a period of complete inactivity for about eighteen months. The band was essentially dead until election night in 2016, when they decided it was time to fire up the machine and try to make up some new songs, inspired by disbelief, anger and general resentment of the results.

    They're back. They're bummed. Resistors!
