Another day, another band. Meet the Italian pop punkers The Others!

Hello The Others. Thanks for taking time to chat with us here, at Distrolution. Could you please present your band and tell us what your roles in it are? Hi Valentine, we are The Others from Verona, Italy. We are a 4 members pop-punk band: Thomas,(vocals and guitars), Matteo (bass and vocals), Alex (lead guitar) and Edoardo (drums). Your band had a change of line up lately. How much did this affect the mood and the overall organization of your band? We started this band as a Blink 182’s cover band, with a few songs wrote by ourself on the same genre, since Alex and Matteo joined the band at the end of 2017 we decided to change the project, to playing original music only; the intention was to unify pop-punk sonorities to metalcore. The result has been satisfying due to the understanding between us. Your debut single ‘Painkiller’ is out since January 18th 2018 and came along with a music video. Can you tell us the story behind this song? This song came out on a rehearsal night session. We were focused on many riffs, that we didn’t appreciate completely from about 2 weeks and during a break, Thomas came out with chorus’ chords and then, lyrics and the rest of the track came out in a few minutes. That was hilarious! How was the shooting experience? Any funny story to share with our readers? During the videoshooting, it was hot like hell (we were in the middle of the summer, in July). The scenes with the crowd lasted about 7 hours but water and drinks ended in only
2. It was really hard to keep going on but in the end we made it ! A funny fact is that Matteo took part in the video as a crowd member, even if he actually wasn’t part of the band yet! I know that it has only been out since a few days but are you happy with the feedback you've received so far, from both your fans and the media? We are so happy about that! Since the first day, we received a lot of great feedback, our video also received more than 10000 views in more than a week and we couldn’t asked for more! Recently, we played a show here in our hometown and during our set, we obviously played Painkiller and all the people in the room started to sing the chorus. That was very satisfying. Do you guys also plan on releasing new songs this year? Can we actually expect a debut EP for 2018? Of course we do! We are working very hard every day on new stuff, our intention is to drop a new music video the next month, then came out with a debut EP, but we don’t have any deadline about this one. We got about 10 original songs concluded and we are choosing which ones will be included in it.
